Now some of you are wondering "Why did he do another topic to explain something he could've said in the Rules topic?". The answer is because I judged that this should be placed separately. It will explain how the roleplay works in itself, what people can and can't do, what Digimon or spirits they can't use as well as how they work. Bear with me for a while, I shall try to not make this too long.
First: Number of Digimon partners. Just like in Digimon World 3, you can have up to 3 Digimon with you at once, and have some others stored in a DigiLab. Where it changes is that you will have only one to begin with and will get the others through capturing them, during events, bought in shop or by trading with a friend (This friend MUST be on the forum. Can be an NPC controlled by the staff or another player). Yes this sounds just like Pokemon, but that's the only similar thing to it. This does not affect spirit users.
Second: Spirit Users. On this forum, we will allow the use of Spirits, at the cost of not having Digimon partners at the start. There will be a thread referencing to how the Spirits work on here, so if you are interested in being a Spirit User, look there.
Third: Originally-created Digimon. Yes, you've read correctly, this is about Digimon that YOU created. We allow them, we encourage them in fact. BUT not as your starting Digimon, if you want one as your starting Digimon, you must create an "application" for them, and then contact myself or the staff for grading and approval. In order for the staff to approve your original creation, you must provide either images or detailed descriptions for its entire line, two paragraphs minimum per Digimon, information regarding the Digimon, its type, attribute, the attacks it can use and the evolution line it uses. You cannot have an original Digimon until the staff approves of it. We've had many people trying to "sneak in" as it were, they were swiftly dealt with.
Fourth: Cards. We will also allow the use of cards to help your Digimon in times of need. But do not forget that they are merely boosts and will not make your Rookie level Digimon as strong as a Mega. Their bonus don't stack. You use Wing card, then Power card? Wing card will be disabled and only the Power card will work.
Fifth: Money Money. How do you earn money? Well right now the money system is going through a significant rework, but the most reliable and primary sources of income will be through completing quests, posted by other players or the system.
Just a note that, when buying items from the shop, they cannot be used for the threads you're in currently. But in the future there will be a function to allow such a thing.
Sixth: Transferring characters from another forum. THIS is possible. There will be bonuses and disadvantages for those that do so. More information on the Character Transfer thread found in the rules section.
Seventh: Death. Death is enabled: your character can die. But! Since you're in a video game... Death ain't permanent. You simply revive in the town you previously visited. Obviously, a player can not kill you randomly without your approval, but a mod can make you die due to the actions you took, or failed to kill the Digimon you fought. There are small consequences to dying, but it is purely plot-wise. You will learn of it during the roleplay.
Eighth: Battles. We do not use a battle system here, we trust our members to be able to fight fairly. Most fights against Wild Digimon will be moderated by the Staff and players under the NPC rule, but they will still be freeform, allowing the members to act, do and use what they wish. But against Digimon linked to the plot, enemies related to the plots, fights will be more controlled by the staff: Players will not be able to say they landed a clean hit like they would for other fights. Instead, they will do attempts to damage the opponent and the Staff will decide if it goes through or not. But remember that with Death enabled, if you do something really stupid during those fights... You may die.
Lastly, in order to help everyone, here is the link we use to refer to every Digimon known throughout the world. Following those links will be some restrictions regarding evolution lines and Digimon we do not wish to see here.

If you are not certain of the Digimon you wish to be, please refer to a staff member so that they can fix this or allow you to use him. Some Digimon from the Xros Wars series are open, but need a Digivolution line (Deckerdramon, Greymon Xros Wars, MailBirdramon are a few examples).
In regards to Appmon, as we have no way of knowing the whole details on their gimmick at this stage, AppliDRIVEs, AppLINK, and AppGATTAI are all prohibited. As are the use of Appmon, such as Gatchmon and Navimon. Please wait until we know enough about the series.
